HOLMEN Industrial
An internal R&D visual study inspired by the Holmen Industrial Area in Northern Norway, exploring a contemporary fishing and production facility set within a remote waterfront landscape. The imagery combines industrial functionality, bold architectural volumes, and restrained Nordic materials with the dramatic character of the surrounding sea and mountains. The original project brings processing, maritime operations, administration, and employee facilities together within a single industrial complex.

Our goal was to explore how large-scale industrial architecture can feel purposeful, distinctive, and closely connected to its environment. Through varied viewpoints, seasonal conditions, and day-to-night atmospheres, the study presents functionality and operational scale without losing the emotional quality of the landscape.
Industry shaped by its surroundings - The low horizontal volumes follow the waterfront and frame distant mountains, allowing the facility to feel grounded within the expansive northern landscape.
Function expressed through atmosphere - Loading areas, cranes, storage zones, lighting, and working surfaces reveal the building’s industrial purpose, while carefully composed scenes give these practical elements a strong architectural presence.
